March Movie: Watchmen

This month we’ll be seeing Watchmen @ 1 PM. We’ll meet outside of Chatter’s (to the left just inside Showcase) at 12:40 PM. I expect this movie to be near sold out, so we’ll be going in a little early to get good seats.

After the show we’ll eat at Max and Erma’s and play the game Cineplexity. (You can read about it here.) A couple brought this game last month and it was a ton of fun. I would give them credit, but for the life of me I cannot remember their names. (Feel free guys to setup and take credit.)

More about the movie:

Consensus: Gritty and visually striking, Watchmen is a faithful adaptation of Alan Moore's graphic novel, but its complex narrative structure may make it difficult for it to appeal to viewers not already familiar with the source material.

Synopsis: A complex, multi-layered mystery adventure, Watchmen is set in an alternate 1985 America in which costumed superheroes are part of the fabric of everyday society, and the Doomsday Clock -- which charts the USA's tension with the Soviet Union -- moves closer to midnight.

When one of his former colleagues is murdered, the outlawed but no less determined masked vigilante Rorschach sets out to uncover a plot to kill and discredit all past and present superheroes. As he reconnects with his former crime-fighting legion -- a disbanded group of retired superheroes, only one of whom has true powers -- Rorschach glimpses a wide-ranging and disturbing conspiracy with links to their shared past and catastrophic consequences for the future.
